The 30 km course starts at Athelstone primary school, heading towards the hills briefly, before crossing the Torrens River and heading west towards the coast. 15 km runners begin at Elder Park and join the 30 km course after running east on the southern river bank, and crossing over at the University of Adelaide footbridge. The 15 km start is at the Adelaide Rowing Club, on the banks of the Torrens Lake at adjacent to the convention centre. This venue provides an ideal vantage point from the balcony for those wishing to hang around and have a hot drink while watching the start of the 15 km, or the 30 km runners pass by on the opposite bank.

7 km entrants start at Nazareth Catholic Secondary College at Flinders Park and join the 30 km course immediately. Parking is available at the school, and runners assemble in a sheltered courtyard which opens at the rear directly onto the linear park trail.

The Henley Beach sailing club has on-site parking and a large covered area upstairs with a balcony so finishers, friends and family can view runners once they cross the Torrens for the final time and cross the finish-line. Change-rooms and showers are available, but access to the upstairs area will be through the external stairs at the beach-front.

Course marshals and portable signage will be placed along the course.  Signage will comprise markers counting down kilometres to go (the 3 events use a common course), toilets, changes of direction where there is no marshal and Runner Warning signs at points where it is necessary to warn other users of the presence of runners and walkers. Yellow Chalk marks will be placed along the course a week prior to the event to supplement these and will be identifiable as stencilled arrows and the SARRC logo.

RACE DETAILS

Drink stations will be open early for 30 km walkers

The course will be well marked with temporary markings (distance remaining and directional arrows) in yellow spray-chalk these will be placed on the course 2 weeks prior to the event. Course marshals and some portable signage will also be placed along the course. Please be advised that the exact number of Marshals is dependent on volunteer availability, and portable signs can be tampered with. All participants are advised to familiarise themselves with the route beforehand, and if in doubt the most reliable guide will be the spray-chalk markings.

Drink stations will be supplied at ~ 5km intervals, although the exact location is determined by ease of access to the linear park trail.

Signage will comprise some distance markers counting down kilometres to go (the 3 events use a common course), toilets, changes of direction (where this is difficult to mark, or attend with a marshal as outlined above) and Runner Warning signs at points where it is necessary to warn other users of the linear park trail.

Several patrol cyclists will be travelling up and down the course, primarily to provide early warning of incidents and injured runners. Sports trainers will be available at the finish, but will have limited access to the course. Entrants needing assistance or wishing to withdraw should stop at the nearest drink station, if possible, as these can be accessed by vehicles.

The course will be progressively closed at the rate of 8:30 per km from the 30km run start of 8 am.  Drink stations and course marshals will be withdrawn at this rate. A trail cyclist will travel along the course to collect signage and assist entrants who have fallen behind this rate.  Entrants who cannot maintain this time will be required to withdraw from the event and will be able to wait at the next drink station for transport back to the finish line.
