It's worth the trip to come to this great event. Clare is north east of Adelaide on the Horrocks Highway (formerly Main North Road) and it will take you just under two hours to get there. The Clare Valley is one of South Australia's best known wine regions. The wineries are outstanding, with so many to choose from. There are more than 40 cellar doors. The early settlers were mainly of British and German descent and their influence can still be found in the Clare Valley. A lot of the original buildings remain and are now used as cosy guest houses, restaurants and galleries. It's a lovely country town for a weekend away. It is so popular that accommodation fills up quickly. If you are thinking about spending the weekend in Clare, make sure you book sooner rather than later. Entry details
Bibs will be available for collection from the SARRC office from 9:00am to 3:00pm on Thursday 4 April and Friday 5 April, as well as at the venue on race morning. The half marathon course The course will follow the Riesling Trail – along the former railway line sourth from Clare, with the turnaround point at Penwortham. You will run past vineyards, mixed farms and natural bushland. The trail is a compacted surface and has a very small gradient, allowing you to come home fast.
