10km, Run, Walk or Crawl!
The week after the Marathon, you will be keen to check your pace over a measured distance.
A 10km time trial run without watches or timing devices.
Test your ability to judge your pace.
Race Clock starts the 2.00 hour countdown from 7:30am.
Simply leave with however much time you think you will take to complete the 10km course as the clock hits 0:00:00 (or 9:30am).
The finisher who crosses the line nearest the finish time wins the event.
Even though it is further than 10K, we are using the same course as last year so that regulars can judge their time and, with other groups using the ovals, it is too risky to change the course, which is well defined. It has been measured to AIMS standard as 10.3 Km. The highlight of the course is the brand new footpath, about 700 metres, along Port Road. It is magnificent to run on and it is going to be interesting over the years to watch the new trees and shrubs grow alongside the track.
