Yurrebilla Training Run No 3

PLANNED TRAINING RUNS TO GET YOU THROUGH THE YURREBILLA TRAIL ULTRA (Yurrebilla Training Run No 3. Saturday, 10th September 2011)

Yurrebilla Trail 56km Ultra Training Runs
Leading up to the running of the Yurrebilla Trail 56km Ultra in late September, three runs have been organised in July and August. These runs, which will cover the full length of the Yurrebilla Trail, can be used to familiarize yourself with the trail or as part of your preparation for the event.

Runners have the choice of running either the trail one way or running out and back. A water drop will be made at the end of each trail for runners that are running out and back. Other than this, there will not be any support with runners required to carry their own water and food supplies.

Like the regular monthly trail runs, runners will be asked to sign on and off at the start/finish. Everyone is welcome to participate in these trail runs and to do the distance that best suits them.

All runs will start at 8.00am from the designated starting point.

If you wish to only run the course one way, and want to get a lift back to the start, you need to be at the designated finish point, ready to go, at 7.30am. You don't need to email in advance if you want transport back to Norton Summit start. We'll work out on the morning how to take as few cars as possible.

As the primary purpose of these training runs is to encourage and familiarize new runners who are considering running the Yurrebilla Trail 56km Ultra, the focus will be on making sure everyone is assisted and doesn’t get lost. This may mean that a decision is made to run in a single group with some runners running at a speed slower than they would normally run. This will depend on the number of new runners that turn up on the morning as well as the number of runners who are familiar with the trail

Walkers, especially if you who are preparing for the Trailblazer Challenge in October are most welcome to join us in these trail runs, but we cannot guarantee to provide assistance/support.
