The New Year brings with it new bibs! Technological advances have meant that we can do away with our old paper bibs and plastic sleeves. Starting with the Dolphin Run, all of our bibs will use polymer paper, which means no more plastic sleeves. The timing chip will be stuck to the back of the bib and at the end of the race, you can keep your bib as a great memento with your finisher’s certificate.
If you enter before the earlybird cut-off (usually two weeks before the race), you will receive a bib printed with your name on it. If you enter in the last two weeks you will receive a race specific bib, while stock lasts. If you enter very late or on race morning, then you may receive a generic race bib, but still with a timing chip.
The logistics of getting bibs printed and freighted to Adelaide means that we won't be able to post the bibs out anymore. Bibs should be available for collection from the office on the Thursday and Friday before races. We may also open the office on Saturday afternoons, depending on the size of the field. Bibs can also be collected on race morning; however, please leave enough time to queue up before race start.
We have decided to re-introduce race day entry for those commitment-phobes who really need to see how they feel on race morning. However, there will be a $10 surcharge. Don’t forget online entries don’t close until 3pm on Saturday, so you can wait until the afternoon before an event to enter.
Finally, there may be some teething problems as we all get used to the new system. Please be patient and remember that the people serving you may be volunteers, who deserve praise and understanding for their efforts.
